Running W2000 SP$. Have had a number of update problems, (including having to
install a DirectX update in safe model)but finally got all current updates
installed except these 4 - downloads seemed to work, but attempting to
install each of these 4 by themselves or in combinations fails every time.
Also, I have a problem with using Skype with a Creative Live! Cam Pro - this
works fine on an identical sister machine running W2000, but on the machine
where I'm having update problems, no video goes from the cam to Skype webcam
test display, so I'm wondering if I have corrupt programs. I've reinstalled
WMP 9 that I downloaded fresh from MS site, but the same 4 updates are
required and fail
SO, three questions - (1) is there a way to uninstall and reinstall WMP 9 to
get a fresh copy? (2) how do I get the 4 updates in the subject line
installed? and (3) if there is something wrong/corrupt with my W2000, how can
I clean it up so things work better?
