could be too old to have drivers for vista.
if hp does not have.
and their generic one does not support it, you are probably right.
you can pick up pretty good printers for under $100.
even under $50 for refurbished.

I have an HP 6830 deskjet printer (which according to my mom is old, and I
guess she would know, seeing as it used to be hers....) and I tried to hook
it up to my new computer today, but when I try to run the CD with the
software, it says it can't install it because I don't have IE 5.0 or higher.
-.- I use 7.0.
I read somewhere that some printers need drivers to run on vista, so I went
to the HP website and found their universal driver (or whatever it's called),
and I looked, and it doesn't support my printer.
is the printer just too old to use on my computer, or is it not compatible
or something?
