after updating to the latest service pack, I can't install about 50% of
different new applications.
When it occurs, the MS installer crashes and the report is like this:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: msiexec.exe (different according specific application
installation)
Fault Module Name: MSVCR80.dll
___________________________
And it seems that the problem only occurs when I run "*.msi" packages, but
all goes right when running "setup.exe" packages.
I'm running a tablet under vista home premium
Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

sounds like one or more corrupt DLLs, to fix:

click start type command, and right click the command prompt, run as administrator

type sfcscan /scannow

this will scan all ur system DLL files and fix any that are broken. It will take about 5 minutes
to complete

hope that helps
