Howdy again,
Now I have a new problem.... I downloaded the program and tried to install
it. I had already uninstalled Office 2007 beta but when installing it tells
me the current application cannot be upgraded! I go to control panel and no
Office Programs are in there!

Just went back into the add/remove programs and Office 2007 Accounting is in
there now.

Is there by chance a tool that can remove all previous Office programs?

VMaxdad--

Here's what I want you to try. I'll tell you why. It's a known and
somewhat widespread issue that a number of people have had trouble
uninstalling the Office 2007 Beta via Add/Remove. I'm one of them because
when I wanted to uninstall it from Add/Remove it balked. The message I got
said to put in the CD--and I happened to have one--most people don't because
they simply downloaded it.

1) Download Win Installer Cleanup Utility. Highlight every Office 2007
reference>OK. There are about a dozen--languages, etc. and you need to hit
every one. This does not uninstall actual applications, but it uninstalls
reg orphans and corrupt .dlls that obstruct both uninstall and future
installs. It is used frequently by MSFT Office personnel at Redmond and
other campuses.

2) Use this KB and do it very carefully even if you don't get the exact
error message--this is the manual uninstall of Beta Office 2007:

Error message after you remove the beta release version of a 2007 Office
suite or program and then try to install the original release version of a
2007 Office suite or program: "Setup is unable to proceed"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us

3) Some of us have noted that in Step 2 removall of the 4th reg subkey
disables the remove or change button in Add/Remove, so you may have to
restore it. That's why I'm telling you to backup the registry:
File>Export>Subkey or Entire Registry radio button on the lower left>save to
location of your choice. This is very important. Backup every reg subkey
change you make in this particular MSKB. You can make a folder on your
desktop called Reg Backup and date it if you like.

This worked well for me.

Good luck,

CH

Howdy Dad:

here is the link for the Office Cleaner. It will zap all entries of any
software installed.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...BD/msicuu2.exe
2. After you install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, click Start
menu-> All Programs-> Windows Install Clean Up.

3. Highlight Microsoft Office 2007 entry in the list and then click Remove.
Quit the Utility.

4. Close all applications.

5. Click Start menu-> Run, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) in
the Open box and press Enter.

6. Expand the registry tree on the left pane and locate the following two
registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office

7. Highlight one of above two keys and press Del Key on the keyboard to
delete it. Then delete the other one.

8. Restart your computer and install Office 2007 again.

I did the above and then used a custom install to install the modules
individually. I think once you get one installed you can then use the add
feature on the disk to install the rest.
