Just got new hard drive so attempting to reload everything back on. When I
attempt to install SP2 it simply says
"A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or
installed"

The only thing on my computer at this point is NOD32 the newest version.
Any pointers?

It may the presence of NOD32 that is causing the installation to fail.
Did you turn off all real time monitoring of the system ?
Click on the NOD32 icon in the System Tray
Click the arrow next to Threat Protection Modules
Click on AMON in the left frame, then click the Stop button in the right
frame
Click on DMON in the left frame, click the Quit button in the right frame
Same for EMON and IMON, if they are both currently active
The system *may* need to be restarted at this point in time.
Do so if you receive a popup message that indicates a restart should be
done.
If that doesn't get SP2 installed, then please read:

STRONGLY SUGGEST that you prepare for the installation of SP2 by reading
these articles :

http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm

The entire SP2 package can be downloaded from :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Or, you can order the free CD and pay ONLY for the shipping:

Make sure you new hardive is completly formated by your system, Once that is
asuured reload / reinstall your windows and before you install any internet
downloads go to the Microsodft website and download SP2 or buy a Windows XP
version with SP2 already preinstalled available at Microsodt Cataloge. But If
You have updated Virus and spyware protectors you do not need the Service
packs they are just security packages which do not protect you from addware
or spyware. Another instance before you load SP2 make sure your windows
defender and your windows firewall is not there. SP2 wiil upload them Back to
You with the SP2.
