can't install silverlight (KB954938)

My computer will not update this item (whatever it is???)

Do you have a Pentium III or higher processor? Silverlight will not install on
a computer with a Pentium II CPU.

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor. I also already have
Silverlight 1.0 and cannot load Silverlight 2.0

Same problem here. Processor not an issue.

I'm having same problem. Windows XP SP3, Pentium 4 processor.

Uninstall/remove the version 1, reboot, download/install version 2.

I forgot to add that I used the update cleanup untility to remove silverlight
and tried again after rebooting. No go. I also was going to remove
silverlight in add/remove programs in control panel, but it is not listed.

And I tried installing silverlight from the microsoft silverlight website,
and still no go.

Oops, what I meant to say is if your original version was the beta, you
should have uninstalled it prior d/loading/installing ver 1 and/or 2.
