Can't install or uninstall... at wits end!

Anytime I try to install an up-date, or new program, or if I try to uninstall
I get an error message saying that there is an install in progress and to
wait until it is finished before trying to run another install... this has
been going on for weeks. It's like my system is in a loop and can't get out.
I have cleared the DataStore SoftwearDistribution fold more times than I can
say... that is not helping I have done a fsutil resource setautoreset at the
c prompt... that is not helping. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going
on? I wish I had never heard of Vista!
Thanks!

I'd wish for a Lamborghini, teeth that grow like a sharks, and a conveyor
belt that brings a steady supply of steaks to the table !

Hi Andre,

I am still getting an error message stating that there is another
installation in progress and to wait until that is finished before attempting
to install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility you sent to me. It is Error
#1500.
Any other suggestions?

Your problem may be related to broken install/uninstall debris on your system
that needs to be cleaned out, or you may need some elements of Repair Vista
Options. Details in the following tutorials.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.

Hi Nancie,

Well I searched for over an hour here trying to help you find how to install
this Utility on your machine. I found a site which was not in English, but
thanks to Google Translating I was able to find out how. The poster said
they installed it on another machine, copied the files onto a USB Jumpdrive
then copied it to their machine. If you have access to another machine and
can install it there, the files are located in the Program Files / Windows
Installer Clean Up folder. Their are 3 files....

msicuu.exe
MsiZap.exe
readme.txt

The msicuu.exe is the file you need to run and you should view the Readme
file. I haven't tested copying these files over to another machine to see if
it will indeed run, just passing on the OP suggestion. Hope this works for
you and you get this cleared up.

All the best,
SG

Please not a command prompt!!! I thought only Linux users ever had to use a
command prompt. What's going on?

Funny that Windoze needs a "repair option". What kinda operating system
needs that foolishness?

Cheers.

Why do you care doris? You don't have nor can you afford Vista, right?
You need to stop trolling this MS ng and get back to your open sores
chapel.
Also RS is calling.
Ahaha...and you know what he wants and what you need to do for him...lol!

Wrong, as usual Frankie Boy. The correct answer is ... I don't want Vista.
Only a fool would want to run that pathetic toy operating system. Guess,
that includes you. Now read my sig and go get help.

Cheers.
