can't install updates code 80240016

I have Vista home edition.

I have 24 security updates that are needed and all I get is code 80240016.
Please help!!

Hello Chuck and Engel.

I had the same problem and I just managed to fix it.

The other program which was trying to install something was Windows
defender. My AVG firewall was stopping it from updating. I took the
firewall offline and updated Windows defender. I then rebooted and (still
with the firewall off) I managed to download and install the Windows Updates
without the error coming up.

I've been working on this for 3 days now, I figured other people might have
the same problem.
