You need a "retail upgrade" version of Vista Ultimate
in order to upgrade from Vista Home Premium.
It appears you acquired an "OEM" version of Vista
Ultimate which can only be installed as a "clean install".

Clearly, Windows Vista Ultimate is JUST AS BUGGY AS was Windows 95!
It is not ONLY your SCSI adapter that hinders Vista Ultimate from installing
an upgrade, but APPARENTLY, Windows Vista Home Premium is also TOTALLY
INCOMPATIBLE WITH Windows Vista Ultimate!
I am able to back up my data, but I am FORCED to do a Clean Install, which
TOTALLY WIPES OUT the hard drive, so I am facing 6 or 8 hours of installing
applications.
I have read all that Microsoft BS that is supposed to be helpful or cure the
problem, but THEY DO NOT WORK!!
Is there ANYONE out there who has hacked Windows Vista Ultimate sufficiently
to be able to tell me how I can Upgrade to Vista Ultimate from Vista Home
Premium?
ANYONE!! HELP!! Geoff Tamplin (
