Ok...I thought this problem was fixed a wk or so ago. Well it's back!!!
spinning guys make a partial turn and then error 81000314 window pops
up...same as a wk ago. I'm about ready to dump this messenger service.
I had the window open and set my status to "appear offline", and the next
thing I know it says I've lost my connection and it's trying to reestablish
it. It can't and i then get the error. It had been working fine just 15
minutes ago.
I'm running XP SP2 with IE6...( took IE7 out because it's junk) and did the
same to WMP11 for the same reason...now running WMP10.
Clicking on WLM service status, it says all systems are running
normally.....HA!!!!
The same problem a wk or so ago, fixed itself or maybe somebody at MS fixed
something....now what!!!!

Greetings,

81000314 indicates a server-based error (yes I know the page doesn't say
so). Usually there's nothing you can do about it but to simply try again
later.

I also had a problem logging in earlier this evening, but clicking Retry got
in the second go.
