I can't log onto my computer anymore

When I start my computer up, it comes up with the login screen, showing the 2
login profiles (ie the pictures I have chosen for myself and my husband's
accounts) but as soon as I click on them, where it would normally let you
then type in your password, the egg timer comes up, screen flicks and it then
takes me back to the pictures again, where I first started. I have logged
into safe mode and tried system restore, but still can't fix the problem from
there. Help..........

Hi Fuzzums,

You might try running a Startup Repair to see if it will help your
problem. This tutorial will show you how.
