Funny I had exactly the same thing happened to me to day. REALLY! I've
figured out a solution ( after cursing with all the foul words that I know
for 10 min. ) :-
1. turn off the power
2. turn back the power and start the computer with Safe mode
3. open Control Panel ( yes, it's still there ), choose BACK UP YOUR
COMPUTER
4. choose USE SYSTEM RESTORE TO FIX PROBLEMS etc. You'll be asked for
password. DON'T worry, enter your password, it'll go through.
5. click CHOOSE A DIFFERENT RESTORE POINT . You know the rest.
BY THE WAY, you said nobody uses your computer. Why don't you just put it on
SLEEP mode instead of logging off when you are not using it. It gets
restarted in no time at all.
