Can't open email attachments

I can't open email attachments on my Axim 3. they appear to sync with the
messages (I have set them to in the "options"); however, when I click on
them to open them on my pocket pc nothing happens? Anyone have any ideas?

And, if you copy the files themselves, not as attachments to something, but
just using the Explore Mobile Device capability of ActiveSync, they open
fine on the device?
