Can't open Excel after problematic Windows update (SR-2 I think)

After an what I believe was an aborted SR-2 Windows update (my husband
handled - I think the update asked for a CD, which we didn't have, so my
husband cancelled), Excel can no longer be opened. When attempting to open
Excel, Windows Installer attempts to install Office XP Small Business (which
was loaded on the PC when purchased), and asks for the CD. I do not have the
CD, as the software was loaded at time of PC purchase.

How can I get around or correct this problem? Can someone PLEASE HELP??!!

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Anna

Anna;
You should ask this in an Office or Excel newsgroup:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Look around, you should have the CD for Office Small Business.
