Thanks for the help. I am using Vista and the latest version of Live Mail. I
could follow the instructions you gave expcept that I don't have a Locations
[tab] in the Properties (just a line under the General [tab] describing where
the location is).
I kept the Mail Store on the primary drive (and backed up regularly to the
external backup drive) ... I'll be doing the same for Favourites and Contacts
in future.
Some of the folders have the Location tab, and others don't (i.e. the ones I
need to have it). Can I add a tab somehow?

I copied all data to the external hard drive (the backup) prior to the demise of the data hard drive. I then copied the Contents and Favorites folders back to the living internal harddrive (the one with the programs). Further, note that the copied folders have ordinary icons when copied back into the internal program hard drive. I suspect the Mail program simply do not recognise the Contacts folder as the approprite one to go to (the Favorites do not show up on Internet Explorer either - a related issue). The question probably is, how can I get the programs to find the related folders?
