Today, I migrated my operating platform from Windows 2000 Pro to Wndows XP
Pro. After the migration, I am able to get into all my programs, hardware
seems to be working OK, and I can access all my internet sites, with one
exception. I cannot log onto Windows Update to get my critical updates,
service packs, etc. When I try to access Windows update, it just hangs and
never quit connects.
I did a Google, and did find some articles that there might be a problem
with corporate and broad band users. I did follow the suggestion on one
article to clean out my old downloads, cookies, etc. with I did, to no avail.
My XP is just XP Professional with no service packs, and my IE is 6.0 SP1.
According to my Belarc dianogstic, I need about 45 updates, and the latest
service packs too, which I would do, but I can't log onto the Window's update
site to get them.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
