Cant play WAV files in WMP11 nor WMclassic

I Cant play WAV files in WMP11 nor WMclassic, the play in other players, like
irfanview or Adobe Audition, but not in AfterEffects or Window Media Player

or WMPClassic. The old Media Player 32 CAN play them.
The Wav files do not need codecs. What´s going on?

What codec do they use? How were they created? Do you have a sample file I
can look at?

Is this Vista or Vista SP1?

It happends with all wav files. Anyway i´ve already migrated to XP
