A "can't read or write to drive" error when trying to install SP2

It goes all the way through the whole installation process till it tries to
write to my drive and then it shows the error. I press Ok and it cancells
the update. I have plenty of space on my C:\, about 10GB. Can you tell me
why i get this error and how to fix the problem so I can get SP2 installed on
my computer.
