Here's the error message:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'Kristin's Mail', Server: 'pop.surewest.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I've fixed and checked my firewall, made sure the ports and settings were
correct, haven't been inactive? and my connection is fine..

Go to tools menu>accounts>select 'Kristin's Mail' account>properties>server
tab, remove the check mark from log on using secure authentication for
incoming mail>apply/ok

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced.
For the incoming (POP3) server, uncheck the SSL option.

Edit: It asks me to plug in my login information, I do so and I'm positive
it's correct but it won't log me on. Just re-opens the login box until I
finally give up and stop it.

One other place to check:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication is
*not* checked.

If that was not the issue, the next most likely cause of that error message
is interference from a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus
are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
