Can't run Windows Update Standalone Installer

I've downloaded a bunch of Vista updates (after genuine validation)
such as:

KB936004
KB938979
KB940105

These files looks like:

Windows6.0-KB938979-x86.msu
Windows6.0-KB941090-v2-x86.msu

I just double cliked in Windows Explorer to install these patches, but
I only got error:

Installer encountered an error: 0x800401f0
CoInitialize has not been called.


I can't figure it out what's going wrong.

I have the same error to install KB917607.msu, which install winhlp32.exe.
I would like to see the help file in XP.
Is there anybody to help this problem?
