Microsoft Paint?

yeah i can copy and paste it to another program like paint. but the save
option of the snipping tool won't work by itself.

If you can save to a program you should be able to save where you like. You
click the Tool under Accessories and lasso the area on screen you want and
then click the save icon. The Browse button shows you your file list. Just
choose where you want it.

ya but when i click the save icon, nothing happens at all. i don't even get
to see the browse button or anything that allows me to name the file to be
saved.

yet, when i exit the snipping tool, it does have a pop-up that says "do you
want to save changes to the snip? however clicking "yes" for that doesn't
show up anything as well. the tool just closes after that, as if it has
really saved the file. i'm wondering if i'm the only one that faces such a
problem because i know it's really weird.

or is there any way that i can reinstall the whole application manually by
myself? the tool is pre-installed in my windows vista home premium.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.
