I created a shortcut to a web sit from the ie favorites to the desktop. No
matter
what I do it always opens as a 'child' window. I've maximized it and held
down
CTRL while clicking the close button but it doesn't open maximized. I've
tried
expanding the window by dragging the borders and the holding the CTRL key
down when closing but it does no good. Any ideas??

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Try resetting the Folder View settings in METHOD TWO in this tutorial.
Vista should remember how you have the window set when you close it for
the next time you open it.

James

See if you can set the shortcut itself to open to the size you want

....and what about holding down <shift> as you close the normal (dragged
to full-screen) window with the X at the top-right?
