Can't see .asf files in WMP 12 music library

I use Replay AV to record internet audio streams. This creates .asf files
and saves them in my music library folder. I can go directly to the files
and play them by double-clicking them. However, when I open WMP 12, the
files are not shown in my Music library. I have even added the specific
folder they are saved in to the music library locations, but WMP still acts
like the files don't exist. Can anyone help me with this one?

Are you sure that these are audio-only ASF files (ASF can be video too)?
The files may be added to WMP's Video library, or even to Other Media.
