I use Windows Live Mail as a newsgroup reader only, but having accidentally
blocked a friend who is a poster on a newsgroup, I can't find the blocked
list anywhere, even though it contains many 'Trolls' addresses in it

Can someone please direct me as to where I will find that list so I can
un-block my friend please.....

In V: 2009 it was found in Tools | Safety Options | Blocked Senders.

Hi, Bigbazza.

In WLM 2011, they hid it - but it's still here.

Start with that no-name icon in the upper left corner. (It actually has a
name, but you won't see it unless you hover your mouse over it; then a
tool-tip will pop up with the very UNinformative label "Windows Live Mail".)

Click that icon, then click on Options, then Safety options... Then you can
choose from 7 tabs, including Blocked Senders.

Do all that again, but right-click on Safety options and Add it to your
Quick Access Toolbar. Then a safety shield icon will appear on your QAT and
you can reach that 7-tabs window with a single click from now on. While
you're at it, go through this again and right-click on Options | Mail and
add this icon to your QAT; then you have a one-click access to the Tools |
Options window that is so familiar to all OE veterans.

Sure makes WLM 2011 easier to live with! ;<)

Thank you so much for that information.......I found it and have removed my
friend from the list..... I am not fond of Windows Live Mail for a news
reader, I much preferred the 'Outlook Express' that I had always
used....But, having Windows 7, it is not available on it anymore...:-(

To add to RC's fine instructions.
Alternatively one can use key stroke commands to access the 'Safety
Options'

Alt F
then press in sequence
O S
