Greetings anderskn,
In the older versions of Messenger prior to the latest 2009 release, there were two options
to see the webcam in XP -- the Webcam settings option and the Audio and video setup wizard.
See if there's any difference.
Usually what you're describing is related to a driver issue, but it's odd that something
recent would have any driver issues. Regardless, you may want to head over to HP's site and
see if there are any updates.
