can't send mail

I have recently changed internet providers form Juno to Road Runner. Since
the change I am trying to use windows mail which recieves mail but will not
send. I am running Windows Vista with McAfee. When sending McAfee pops a
warning saying: "One or more e-mail messages cannot be sent.

After you verify the format of your recipient addresses, McAfee recommends
that you resend those messages from your e-mail program." What can I do to
correct this error??
