can't send messages to Yahoo contacts

upgraded to 8.1 - now I cannot send messages to my Yahoo contacts. They can
message me but when I send something back, my messages get bounced back. Any
solutions?

You weren't the only one experiencing problems with this feature today. It may be worth
trying again tomorrow.

Sorry to say but if you want reliable Yahoo contacts, installing Yahoo Messenger and just
using that is the easiest thing to do.

well that is just a whole lot of help - and NO it is still not working today.

Microsoft has NO BUSINESS pushing this off like they do - saying you can add
Yahoo contacts - IF IT ISN'T GOING TO WORK. Typical!

My boss and I utilize Windows Messenger. I have other contacts who do not.
It's that simple. I do not see the need to run two messenger services and
slow my computer down even more!

Is there anyone out there with a SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM? If not, then a
word of advice - take down all the BS about being able to add and communicate
with Yahoo contacts on Windows Live Messenger because it does not work!

As Jonathan said, a few people were experiencing that, myself included.
It was all fine as of last night (GMT), sometimes it can just be a brief
server issue that shouldn't take long to get rectified. I can assure
you, chatting to Yahoo contacts does work.

I'm having the same problem. I can message my msn and hotmail contacts
without problems but haven't been able to send messages to Yahoo contacts for
the past 3 days.

Apparently this isn't just a random problem so could someone please tell us
how to fix it!?

As stated a few times earlier, there isn't a fix to this. It's due to server
problems.

If this is a server problem, then why does it work with one of my IDs &
persistently not with another ID? This happened 2 days ago. I was running on
version 8, then thought if I upgraded to 8.1, it would help. Alas, no! Tried
logging on different computers at home & at work & still can't send out to
Yahoo contacts. It's very frustrating.
