Can't sign into MSN Messenger on PDA since upgrading on my desktop

Hi, I use an Audiovox PPC6600 PDA with MSN Messenger installed. Ever since I
upgraded my desktop PC to Windows Live Messenger, I haven't been able to log
on to MSN Messenger from my PDA. Is this because my PDA has an older version
and I can't use one version of Messenger on my desktop and another on my PDA?
If so, when will a compatible version of Windows Live Messenger be made
available for download on handheld PDA devices?

Greetings,

No, you can sign into Messenger from any compatible device/software with the latest versions
of the protocol. Only the old versions of the protocol prior to SSL encrypted authentication
are blocked.

The PPC6600 came with Windows Mobile 2003 SE which I *believe* should have the updated MSN
Messenger client. However if for some reason you have an older version, the update for MSN
Messenger is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi.../pocketpc.mspx

However, this wouldn't have broken by using Windows Live Messenger, this would've been broken
for at least two years now since this change was made quite some time ago.

I installed the update for MSN Messenger on my PDA, but it didn't help. My
sign-in credentials are correct. I had them saved but re-entered them
anyways, but it didn't help. All my other internet-capable functions work
perfectly (Internet Explorer, Email, etc.). It's only the MSN Messenger which
is unable to sign on. I believe there may be an issue with my individual MSN
account, since I'm also unable to sign in to MSN Live Mail from my PDA using
Internet Explorer. It says the page cannot be found, although all the other
MSN Live pages (Spaces, etc.) come up. The time on my device is set to sync
with Activesync as well, so that's not the issue. If it's not my device and
not my internet connection and there's no problem with using two different
platforms, then the problem must lie with my account in the MSN Live system
itself, as far as I can see. Thanks for your help.
