Can't start windows media player

When I click on Windows Media Player, it doesn't start.
I've got Vista..
When I click a song and then: 'open with Windows Media Player', it still
doesn't start.
Can anyone help me?

If you open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, do you see a
wmplayer.exe item on the Processes page? If so, select it and click End
Process to kill it, and try starting Windows Media Player again.

If that doesn't help, find Command Prompt in the Start Menu, right-click
it, select Run As Administrator, and type the following:

/sfc scannow

Press Enter and let it run until it completes.

I accidentally put the slash at the wrong place, the correct command is:

sfc /scannow
