Can't startup computer after I updated my windows.

I updated my windows xp with the express critical updates and now I cannot
boot my computer. I get the following message when I try to boot up:

ATAPI CD-ROM: Pioneer DVD_ROM ATAPI Model DVD - 115 0111
ERROR
Resourse Conflict - PCI Network controller in slot 03
bus: 00 Device: 0f, Function: 00

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Linda

Linda, have you tried the Hardware newgroup - they might be able to assist
