I can't switch between users by using the button on the start menu anymore.
I've recently installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1, but I don't know if
that's the cause.

I have exactly the same problem. It started a week ago. It happened
spontaneously, not after any software or OS upgrades. Completely aggravating
because we have to reboot the machine to switch users.

Anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks!

*What* problem? There are no psychics here; if you'rte not going to
bother citing the post to which you're replying, you're wasting our and
your time.

Not until you say what the problem is.

Sorry it wasn't clear Bruce. I assumed that since I replied to the previous
post where the problem was stated as:

"I can't switch between users by using the button on the start menu anymore.
I've recently installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1, but I don't know if
that's the cause."

that it would be understood.

That is the problem I am trying to fix, the button on the start menu that
previously permitted me to switch users doesn't work. It's still there, it
just doesn't work.

The only thing I could find on my own was that perhaps Fast User Switching
had been turned off but as near as I can tell that's not the case (using
regedit.)

I have Vista home premium.

Thanks,

Mike

How could it possibly be "understood" if you didn't bother to quote the
earlier post to which you're replying? Most of us using real
newsreaders don't see previously read posts; it helps keep the clutter down.

What - *exactly* - happens when you try?

Bruce,

I'll seek help elsewhere. Sorry to irritate you so much. Thanks anyway.
