Cant sync Internet Explorer favorites and Outlook Contacts

My PC laptop running Windows 98 recently crashed. I had to replace the
internal hard drive as the old one had sector damage. So since restoring all
my data to a new drive, I have noticed that I can no longer sync my Outlook
2000 contacts, nor my IE favorites with my Jornada 720. I get a message
saying attention required, and Active Sync 3.7 gives no error message. But
it does not sync the data. However I can sync files.

What can I do?

Some technical info on my configuration.

Windows 98SE
10GB hard drive
Active Sync 3.7
Outlook 2000
Internet Explorer 6.x
Hp Jornada 720

Thanks,

John

Hi,

Search for a program called scanpst.exe and run it against the pst file.
Usually the location of the file in Win 98 is as follows:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\95\scanpst.exe

In addition, in Outlook there is a feature on the Help Menu called Detect
and Repair. Try running this as well. Other possible causes is explained
in the following MSKB article --

Thank you very much. We shall give this one a try a little later.
