Somebody knows what error code 80070005 means ... Access Denied.
Clean boot Vista and see if the updates install:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows

Do Step 1: Perform a clean boot. Open the Windows Firewall applet in
Control Panel to ensure that the native Vista firewall is enabled if a
3rd party firewall was being used.

Error Code 80070005 = One of the most common causes of this error code is the
Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software programs running and scanning on the computer.

You can try to turn them off and then retry the updates again.
