Can't update due to Update.inf file.

I'll try to keep this short.
WinXP SP2, Generic Host Process for Win32 Services crashing, Microsoft says
it's WinXp recommends updating.
Try to update, Validation tool won't install (seems common). Downloaded
file, still won't install (no error number), activated Cryptographic
Services, still can't install.
Big issue after downloading file is that it "Can't verify integrity of
Update.inf file".
Please help.

Method 2: Set Cryptographic Services to automatic

If the cryptographic services is okay, perhaps you may need to rename the
Catroot2 folder

Thank you very much. Renaming the Catroot2 file solved the problem.
