Can't update Win 2000 machines

Hey all,

Have a problem that i hope someone can help me with.

i succesfully updated all the Windows 2000 machines in the office last week,
but today when trying to update them, the page just comes back with 'Page
cannot be displayed' everytime.

No settings have changed, and all of them that i updated last week all say
the same. The two XP machines we have are fine and everything goes smoothly,
btw

After some research i found on microsoft.com a patch (q818506) which is
supposed to cure the problem of pages hanging, but when i try and install it
it says it needs Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 to be installed. Which
it is anyway.?!

Has anyone any idea what's going on, and/or how i can fix it?
