Hi, I installed a memory card reader. Everything works fine. My irriation is
I now have 5 additional mapped drives in My Computer, even when there is no
media in the drive. I would like to only have mappings when there is media
in the drive.

Possible?

Thanks

Does the memory card reader actually read 5 different types of cards?

You need an 3rd party software as my USB drive letter
manager:

In the USBDLM.INI configure

[Settings]
NoMediaNoLetter=1

To install the USBDLM service and to edit the USBDLM.INI
file you must be a real 'elevated' Admin.

SD, Compact Flash, Smart Media, MS Pro, Removable L.

When I click on each icon in my computer, it says please insert disk, as
they are empty. I don't want these mappings unless I am using the drive.

?

mine does the same, but it's like having a CD/DVD drive, they show with a
drive letter, but have no content unless there is media.
But it doesn't bother me, at least I know they are working & ready.
If it was a USB device that showed when not connected, I might worry.
But since they are hardwired to the board, no worries.
