Cartographer service related problem (0x8024D00C and sp1 setup)

I'm trying to install SP1, and now I'm having a problem with the cartographer
service. Suddenly, somewhere in the process (either during the windows update
page loadup process or the beginning of the installation process for SP1),
the cartographer service goes into the "stopping" state. Any advice? Thanks

Thanks for the response. My problem though seems to be that Cryptographic
Services resorts to "Stopping" mode after a little while, which doesn't seem
to be covered.
