Interesting.
It would appear Canon has abandoned support for that scanner.
It is the responsibility of Canon to make their products work with the
operating system if they choose.
If Canon chooses not to, you have a few options:
Not install SP-2
Get a scanner from a company that will support their products or will
give you the real reason why they are dropping support.
