Casio Windows CE device not recognized by USB

Just setup an old Casio WindowsCE device on a new laptop via USB.
Downloaded and installed ActiveSync 3.8 and everything worked OK. But I
forgot to move the sync files over from his old laptop, which the client did
himself, but moved them as the old Profile name of "Pocket_PC1 Sync Files"
folder as opposed to the proper new Profile name of "Pocket_PC Sync Files"
folder -- now both folders existed on the desktop as sync folders an active
sync would report errors in regards to the old/problem profile sync folder.
Since then the we could not get ActiveSync to work properly and the laptop
would hang every time you tried to access or even look at the properties of
the old "Pocket_PC1 Sync File" folder. We were finally able to delete the
problem folder while in safe mode, completely wipe/reset the WindowsCE
device with a hard boot and got one successful sync again, but all
subsequent attempts have failed. Did another hard boot of the device and
laptop, removed the ActiveSync Profile and everything, but the Casio device
is still not being recognizing -- even the USB doesn't acknowledge the
device being plugged in.

I don't know if it had an affect, but he used a USB thumb drive to transfer
the files. I have tried assigning the device a different default profile
name but still no success. I did not get time to re-test the thumb drive,
and have not un-installed/re-installed the ActiveSync 3.8. Am I missing
something to get the Casio device recognized by the laptop and working
again? While having the device plugged in I have tried to have the laptop
"Scan for New Hardware" in the Device Mgr but still no luck. My searches
haven't turned anything up yet and help you can offer on the matter would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,

Are you running any firewall software?

yes -- ISA Server with Firewall client on the laptop.

I don't even get any beeps or acknowledgement that the device has been
plugged into the USB. I plugged in a USB 1.1 hub and connected to it and
windows recognized and configured the new hardware, but activesync never saw
it. Now Windows doesn't acknowledge the device when is get plugged in and
neither directly nor with the hub.
