I screwed up importing contacts from my Windows Address Book (WAB) and need
to delete ALL catagories in preparation to hopefully importing correctly the
second time.

How do I delete ALL catagories?

Thanks,
Bill

Re-installed WLM using 2009.

Created a csv file out of OE on an XP MODE machine.

Deleted the catagories 1 at a time.

WLM does not provide a global 'Category' delete function. (* see note at
bottom)
Fyi...WLM does not import or export Categories when using a csv file.

WLM is capable of importing the wab file (thus no need to export the wab
address book to a csv file).
- Choose the contact import option 'Windows Address Book (WAB)' then browse
to the location of the saved wab file (folder, usb drive etc).

* Note:
- for those whose contacts are Live ID based, the web UI
(contacts.live.com) provides the ability to delete multiple categories.
- deletion of a category ****does not*** delete contacts from one's contact
list. Contacts previously assigned to a deleted category will still be
present in the full 'All Contact' list as well as another existing assigned
category.

Hi Winston,

I was aware that I could import a WAB file into WLM, but I didn't know if I
was going to stay with WLM or go to Outlook, even though that would require
a 3rd-party add-in for Newsgroup support. Anyway, WLM 2009 is working okay
and is far less of a "culture-shock" having used OE for many years.

Thanks,
Bill
