Categories will not update on the PPC

I am using Active Sync 3.7.1, Outlook 2002, IPAQ pocket pc. I created a new
category on the pc called Attention. About 1/2 of the contacts with this
category updated on the PPC. I recreated the relationship, soft reset with
no results. I then hard reset and did the sync from the start. A few more
updated but I am still missing about 1/3. Any other ideas???

Hi,
Does ActiveSync finish synchronization? Are you selecting certain
categories to sync?

This is a bug that comes up occassionally during synchronization. Take a
look at the following information ---

Thanks. This looks like what is happening to me. I will try the workaround

Hi Chris,

ActivSync finishes, every thing appears fine. I sync "all" categories. Check
the link provided by the suggestion of Raj Pillai. I think he nailed it.

I followed the sequence without exception. I am very sorry to say it did not
work in my case. I still have contacts that for example show up in outlook
with multiple categories (2-4), and one of the categories does not transfer
to the PPC. However that category (Action) does transfer to some contacts.
So the missing category seems to be contact dependent. I tried de-selecting
the category in Outlook, re-syncing, and re-selecting it but it still will
not transfer.

Hi Dino,

Create a new contact folder in outlook and move all your contacts into this
folder. Repeat the action suggested in the previous post and then move the
contacts back in small sets and confirm if the categories are getting
updated.
