what is causing this problem

I am using a compaq presario 1670 with windows 98. I dowloaded software
called research wizard. At that point the software would not open, so I took
the sites suggestion and updated windows 98. Now the software opens and loads
but there is a problem. What you do is fill in search criteria then click the
go button, but the go button is not active. I thought at first it might be
the software itself but when I went to a different site and tried clicking on
a button on their site the same thing happened. This makes me think there is
something missing from my operating software.

Remove the research wizard from Add/Remove programs. Reboot. Now,
disable the anti-virus application and reinstall the research wizard.
Or, go the the support site for research wizard and pose this issue to
user support. It is not a windows problem.
