Hi all,
Im a newbie. Just purchased a brand new Toshiba Satellite L510, 1.8
Ghz Processor, 2 gb ram, Windows Vista home premium.
The CD drive icon has dissapeared and does not show up in my computer, when
I put a cd in I hear the cd spinning and laser head moving but nothing
happens. device properties displays the following message. "Windows cannot
start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the
registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available."

In device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives 2 icons are displayed. 1, is
HUAWEI mass storage usb device which is Vodafone broadband modem. 2, TSST
corp CDDVDW TS-L633A. They both have a yellow attention Icon attached.
Properties for both these items display the same error message as above.
Please help asap.
TIA........

Hey did the problem start after you install the moden they might be
confliting other wise get the latest drivers for the cd room drive or right
click on the driver and tell it to roll bk to a older one and see if that
helps.
By the sound of it there is a problem with the driver a update should help
this and when its fixd the drive letter will come back in mycomputer .
