CD drive displays message "Filled"

Media Player 11. When I insert a CDRW (that I know to be blank) into the CD
drive, the narrow oblong box above the "Burn" list, and above where it says
"Insert a blank CD", immediately fills out in red, with the message "Filled".
This prevents me from burning any CDs. Can anyone help, please? Thank you
