CD Drive Memory

When I put a CD or DVD into the CD ROM, the light on the drive blinks but
nothing else happens. So I opened up "my computer" the right click on the CD
Drive and click on Properties, the pie-chart comes up with the infomation
about the drive above it. Th whole pie-chart is blue (for used memory) but
the infomation above tells me that there is no free space but no used space
(mbs). There is no memory for my CD Drive to use to read any CD. I've tried
rolling the drive back and uninstalling & reinstalling the drive with no luck.
Can anyone help me?
Richard
