CD-ROM drive does not work

My CD-ROM drive does not open after Windows XP is loaded. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled the drive. I have deleted the upperfilters and lowerfilters
in the registry and it still does not work. However, it does work before
Windows loads. Any other suggestions?

Can you see the CD-ROM drive in explorer? I mean does your system detect it?

Yes, my system does detect it. I checked my BIOS and the drive is listed.

Yes, I tried this fix and it did not help.
