cd rom driver

my cd rom driver won't read any disks. I accidentily removed my setup.exe
program is this the cause? device manager says device working properly but
then error message says device is not ready. can someone help me?

Here you should only post problems concerning windows update issues Yours
is a hardware issue.

How old is your cd rom drive?

Did you recently made changes to your systems software?( Like installing or
removing a burning program)

It might be your cd roms laser is dirty or warn out due to the age of the
device or intensive use

Clean the laser with a cleaner cd.

Try reming the device from your device manager and reboot and see if that
solves it.

Which setup.exe did you remove?
