CD-ROM not reading

OS is Windows Media center and CD/RW stopped working. When I put the CD in
the CD-ROM drive it does recognize the CD b/c it blinks and tries to read it
but it does show the data in the explorer. I have tried to boot from Windows
XP professional CD, it is does exactly the same. It tires to boot from the CD
but somehow it does not boot. I have tried at least 10 different CD’s, it is
not a CD problem. And system had Roxio and I have uninstalled that as well
but no luck. Any help?

CD-ROM drives are cheap (unless you have a laptop). I think you need to
get a new one.
