Try disabling your security program. This can cause this problems with some
DVD burning programs. Then install an RXfilter fix. Info and links below.
Or there can be problems due to codec conflicts. If you have Windows Media
Center don't install the program CODEC All in One 6. It not only causes DVD
problems, but interferes with recognition of the tuner. It can cause the
program not to work and the attempt to solve the problems causes other
problems, mostly ending in drive reformats.
Here is the fix tas described on the Roxio site.
After installing Easy Media Creator 8, you may be unable to read CDs or DVDs
This issue appears to be caused by a conflict between a Roxio feature called
RXFilter and certain anti-virus software. If you have this issue, you can
correct it by disabling RXFilter. RXFilter lets you access data on compressed
or encrypted disc sets directly from Windows Explorer instead of having to
use Roxio Retrieve. After disabling RXFilter, you will need to use Roxio
Retrieve instead to read compressed or encrypted data discs created in
Creator Classic.
To disable RXFilter, download and run this utility:
http://tools.roxio.com/support/c8/rx/rxfix.exe
To re-enable RXFilter, download and run this utility:
http://tools.roxio.com/support/c8/rx/rxenabler.exe
After either of these utilities is run, you must restart your computer for
the changes to take effect.
