CDROM - Drivers don't load

hello
LAPTOP
Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP 2 - Acer Aspire 5535 AMD Athlon 3.00 GB
I have really screwed up my Computer
I made a new partition E and installed none Microsoft software
and it did NOT work, Uninstalled it , deleted the partition E and
expanded C
So all is back to where it was. oh NO NO

I LOST ALL restore points
I LOST the D Drive -CD/DVD drive -

D Drive don't show and when I push the button on tray it DON'T open
I can still go in to Safe mode
what do I do there ??
tied many things nothing changed

Is there a way to open the CD/DVD tray, ????? (with out crow bar)

hold on I found something
Event viewer shows 1 Error that I believe is the cause
Event ID 7026
the following boot-start or system driver(s) fail to load:
cdrom spldr

What is the Service called, to check if its started ??
how do I get to load these Drivers and under what Devices ?
driver name or something

(another error and don't think its related
Event ID 7023 Software Licensing service terminated)

cant find anything in Device Manager all seems normal and up to date

Go into Disk Management and see if the CD drive is listed there. If it does
not have an assigned drive letter, assign it one. Now check it's function.

yes the drive letter was assigned D as it was before
I checked for driver update from there ,
now it works fine

had quit some experience with this laptop
the Reliability Monitor , System Stability Chart is down to 4.64
